Signs That You Need To Get Rid Of Your Beauty Blender

The makeup industry is on an unstoppable rise. In the past two decades, it has successfully brought forth new innovations and products that continue to redefine the societal standards of beauty. From brushes to makeup sponges, we have it all now. But despite all the different applicators we’ve seen, the beauty blender has been one of the most popular beauty trends of late.

After their launch in 2015, beauty blenders soon became one of the leading innovations of the makeup industry. After all these years, the product has garnered quite a loyal fan base to the point that every makeup influencer/enthusiast has owned at least one beauty blender in their lifetime.

While the love for the beauty blender might not go away anytime soon, it’s high time that the one in your drawer went into a trash bin.

Here are some signs that your beauty blender is begging for a replacement.

Sign #1 - Skin Acting Up

If you’re washing up after a long day of wearing makeup and spot a few blemishes on your skin, it might be a sign that your beloved beauty blender is to blame. Despite its wonderful performance, you need to remember that these makeup sponges are, well… sponges. They constantly come in contact with your skin and then come in contact with any surface that you put them on. This can easily make way for bacteria to latch onto them and then onto your skin when you’re applying makeup.

Sign #2 - A Change in Color

If you notice a few stains on your beauty blender from previous use, be cautious. If these stains don’t go away after one wash, it is a clear indication that your blender is done and dusted. The fact that it changed its color from what was once bright pink to a peachy color means that it is retaining a lot of previous products. This means that your blender has become the perfect bacteria hotspot so it’s time to say goodbye to it.
